Council members voiced appreciation for recovering funds; one member said the arrangement is "not a good deal for us at all, but a little bit $12,306 is better than nothing." The ordinance was read into the record and passed on roll call at the meeting.
The council recorded the bill's title before the roll call and the clerk announced the ordinance had passed. The emergency measure also amends prior ordinance language to allow the receipt and appropriation of the grant. The acting sheriff noted the grant period runs through the following year and the county will reapply if deputies remain eligible.
