Council approves update to water/wastewater impact-fee program and appoints advisory committee

The council approved a resolution authorizing an update to the city's Impact Fee Program for water and wastewater facilities and appointed a Capital Improvements Advisory Committee to recommend a capital improvement plan and proposed fees. City Engineer Eddy Daniel said the update will consider changes in future land use and capital improvements and noted the common practice of using the Planning & Zoning Commission as the advisory committee.
Director of Community Services Matt McMahan reminded council that funding for the study had been approved at a prior meeting. Council voted unanimously to proceed with the update and committee appointment; staff will hold several meetings with the advisory committee and bring final recommendations back to council.
