Council amends Future Land Use Map for 6.16-acre tract after brief public hearing

The Caddo Mills City Council opened and closed a public hearing on June 10 regarding an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map for an approximately 6.16-acre tract in the Route 66 Addition, then approved an ordinance to change the designation from Multifamily Residential to Low Density Residential. Mayor Chris Davies opened the hearing; no one spoke for or against the amendment and the hearing closed within a minute.
City Manager John Adel said the amendment aligns the Future Land Use Map with a zoning amendment previously recommended by the Planning & Zoning Commission; Council Member Cody Hawkins moved to approve and the motion passed unanimously. The change is intended to clear the way for the upcoming zoning consideration at the July meeting.
