Village trustees approve warrant, make appointments and OK one-week peddling permit

At the joint special meeting June 29, the Village Board approved Bills & Claims Warrant #2601a for fiscal year 2026–27 totaling $28,245.60 across the General and Water funds. Trustee James Ramus moved the warrant approval; Trustee Jennifer Gargiulo seconded and the motion carried.
The board also approved several appointments. Trustee Gargiulo moved to appoint Joseph Schmidt to the Consolidated Zoning Board of Appeals for the remainder of the open term ending Dec. 31, 2028; Trustee Peter Carroll seconded and the motion passed. Trustee Carroll then moved to appoint Matthew Troy as a full-time DPW Working Leader, effective July 2, 2026, with a maximum 52-week probation at a rate of $32.2115 per hour, per the recommendation of DPW Supervisor Joe Murphy; Trustee Ramus seconded and the motion carried.
Trustees approved a one-week peddler’s permit for Erik Carter of Greenlight Networks to solicit door-to-door fiber internet sales at a $500 fee, pending proof of insurance. Trustees also authorized the mayor or deputy mayor to sign a renewal amendment for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program with Joseph Mastrianni Inc., extending the contract term through March 31, 2027.
