Town board hires replacement, amends Dial A Bus pay and rehires retiring employee

The Town of Highlands Board voted June 29 to hire Lorie Graziano-Rosero, with Council Member Leahy moving the appointment and Council Member King seconding. Supervisor Merv Livsey announced that longtime employee Debbie McCabe will retire July 7, 2026, and the board approved the replacement contingent on a Sept. 1, 2026 start date for Graziano.
Council Member Leahy also moved to amend the salary schedule to set the part-time Dial A Bus driver rate at $20.40 per hour; that motion, seconded by Council Member Nancy Sporbert, passed. Leahy followed with a second motion to hire Debbie McCabe as a part-time Dial A Bus driver at $20.40 per hour beginning July 7, 2026; the board again approved the motion. "Supervisor Livsey shared with the public that Debbie McCabe is retiring as of July 7, 2026, and they will be replacing her with Lorie Graziano-Rosero," the board record states.
All Town-board personnel motions at the meeting were carried by voice vote without recorded dissents. The Town Board will reflect the new hires and pay rates in the next personnel and payroll schedules.
