Council approves bids for Hooten Park milling and light-pole relocation

Assistant to the City Manager Joel Richardson told the council the milling of asphalt on the old drag strip would be used as matching funds for the Hooten Park project and presented two bids: Rigid Excavation for $49,000 and Mike Rogers for $59,000. Mayor Pro Tem John Verity moved to approve the Rigid Excavation bid; Council Member Justin Poppelreiter seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Richardson also presented bids for removing and relocating light poles for the park project, stating one quote at $59,000 and another at $65,000. Mayor Pro Tem John Verity moved to approve the bid from Electric Inc.; Council Member Shawn Bentley seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The council recorded no dissent and gave staff direction to proceed with contract awards.
