Trustees approve summer events, school picnics and a Red Cross blood drive

The board approved a slate of community events and facility uses. Trustee James Ramus moved to approve a Red Cross blood drive on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Senior Center; Trustee Jennifer Gargiulo seconded and the motion carried. Trustees also approved Greenwood Lake Middle School’s picnic at Roe Park on June 16 (11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.), an 8th‑grade picnic on June 23 at Roe Park (certificate of insurance on file), a pool party for 4th and 7th graders on June 24 at Roe Park Pool, and the village’s Independence Day events for July 2–4 (pending certificate of liability).
Trustees noted that some events required certificates of insurance (COIs) on file before final confirmation. Trustee Ramus also moved— and the board approved—an increase in the village donation to the July 4 committee by up to $10,000 if needed.
