At its Feb. 24 meeting the Calvert City Council approved multiple consent and action items in unanimous votes. Actions included approval of minutes from Feb. 10, payment of accounts payable, appointments of Allen Wiese and Carla Barker to the Calvert Type A Economic Development Corporation, resolutions authorizing view-only online access to Type A and Type B SouthStar accounts, and renewal of a $75,000 revolving line of credit with South Star Bank of Moulton, Texas.
Council also approved a subdivision and replat requested by Daniel J. Flores of Kadosh Real Estate LLC for part of a 0.51-acre tract west of 915 E. Hanna Street. Motions were typically made and seconded by council members and recorded as passing “with a vote all in favor.” The sealed-bid process for a surplus 2001 Ford Expedition was authorized (minimum bid $1,500) with the bid opening set for 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 28, 2025 at City Hall.
