Planning director reports July permits, property violations and sign-sweep plans

Planning and Codes Director Christie Gentry told the council the department issued 18 permits in July with total project valuation of $322,600 and total permit fees of $2,369; the department also issued 135 property maintenance violations during the month.
Gentry announced two upcoming court hearings scheduled for Sept. 14, a Variance/Zoning Adjustment (VZA) meeting on Aug. 18 at 9 a.m., and a city sign sweep scheduled to remove remaining campaign signs after the Aug. 6 election. She said packets with sign regulations will be mailed to candidates once the official candidate list is received from the election commission.
