Fire, police and animal-control staff delivered monthly summary reports to the council. The fire department said it ran 123 calls in July, including 92 medical calls, 9 motor vehicle collisions, 6 fires and 7 service calls. The police department reported 94 incidents and 58 arrests for the covered period.
On animal control, staff reported 46 total calls (10 in the city, 36 in the county), 15 adoptions, three returns from adoption and a shelter population of 46 as of July 19. Police staff said the criminal investigation division had 545 cases on hand, with six closed during the period.
