The Daviess County Commissioners unanimously approved three Local Public Agency (LPA) contracts with INDOT for two guardrail projects and a bridge project during their July 28 meeting.
Highway Supervisor Chris Winkler described the contracts—DES 2501424 (south guardrail), DES 2501422 (north guardrail) and DES 2501428 (Bridge #95)—as standard INDOT and Federal Highway Administration templates subject to INDOT timelines and conditions. "The contracts are all regulated by INDOT for the timeline and rules," Winkler said, and county attorney Grant Swartzentruber confirmed he reviews the template agreements for local legal compliance. Commissioners moved to approve each contract and the motions passed unanimously.
The board also approved an LPA voucher for construction engineering on the Cobert Ditch bridge project in the amount of $250.25. Commissioners and staff said they will proceed with required FEMIS requests and other INDOT processes to keep the projects on schedule.
