Texas A&M students to present wastewater‑mapping and transportation planning projects to Burton

BAEN and URPN/PLAN students from Texas A&M completed midterms and submitted a 100+ page wastewater-mapping report; they will present finals April 22 at the American Legion Hall and plan a council meeting presentation in May.
City officials and Texas A&M students are continuing a multi‑term collaboration on wastewater-line mapping and applied transportation planning for Burton. BAEN students have produced a report of more than 100 pages mapping wastewater lines and assessing capacity; the students and city staff will continue coordination as the students complete final calculations on line capacity.
Students presented midterm work to stakeholders on March 4 and will present finals on Wednesday, April 22 from 2–4 p.m. at the American Legion Hall. The mayor and TXDOT staff engaged with student teams to discuss ideas involving Burton ISD and potential interim safety improvements on US Highway 290 and the Mulberry Street intersection. The council expects a student presentation to council in May following the campus showcase.
