North Atlanta Football League reports rising registrations, pushes girls' flag split

Jenny Venter, a liaison for the North Atlanta Football League, briefed the board on recruitment, coach training and equipment upgrades and urged continued cooperation with local schools.
"I've lived in Alpharetta for almost 20 years," Venter said as she introduced her background with the league. She described new coach-training standards, helmet reconditioning for 2026 and improved flag-gear loops for player safety.
Venter gave enrollment figures for the 2026 season: "we have 232 players" in tackle football, "we're sitting right now at 341 flag players," and "Sideline cheer... we're at a 161 players signed up this year." She said school outreach and partnerships helped rebalance registrants between Alpharetta and Milton and that the league hopes to split girls' flag into a separate division next year as participation grows.
Board members pressed Venter on field capacity and scheduling at NorthPark and Bell Memorial; she said scheduling adjustments and coach flexibility (start times ranging from early morning to late evening) have helped but that splitting girls' flag will make scheduling more complex. Venter asked for continued coordination with the city on field access and equipment storage.
The presentation ended with a request for the board to note the league's growing youth participation and to help facilitate field and scheduling solutions as the program expands.
