The City Commission on July 7 adopted Resolution No. 17-2026, authorizing a project funding agreement with the Canyon Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) to provide direct financial assistance of $250,000 as matching dollars for the MPO Downtown Revitalization Project. Canyon Economic Development Director Michael Kitten told commissioners that the CEDC board approved the funding and held a public hearing on June 11 with no opposition.
Mayor Pro-Tem Cody Jones moved to adopt the resolution and Commissioner Danny Potter seconded; the motion carried unanimously. The resolution authorizes disbursement of the $250,000 over a five-year period to support downtown revitalization projects identified through the MPO grant.
