The Fargo Board of Education voted unanimously to approve a revised strategic plan scorecard and related policy updates during its regular meeting.
Dr. Steiner presented changes to the scorecard, saying the district added clearer terminology to reflect data status and a new row to "maintain the general fund reserves of at least 15% of expenditures." After discussion and a motion by Greg, the board approved the scorecard and corresponding strategic plan documents by a 9–0 roll call.
Board member Nikki moved and the board later approved updated board results policies as presented, also by a 9–0 roll call. Nikki then moved updates to board policy GP8E; that motion passed by the same unanimous vote.
Board members praised the work that went into the documents. Nikki said the process "took an immense amount of work" and called the final product a "really good looking and yet meaningful document." Greg thanked staff and board partners for balancing workload and avoiding unnecessary consultant costs.
The board's actions leave the revised materials in place for the coming year; board members said they expect to bring any remaining minor wording fixes back for administrative correction rather than amending the motions.
