Newbury Rec. reports soccer registration and logistical priorities for fall season

At the Aug. 4 meeting, the Newbury Recreation Committee outlined several operational tasks ahead of the soccer season, including contacting the Highway Department to return soccer goals to the Common and to retrieve stored baseball/softball equipment. Committee members also said the fields need painting and that a uniform design decision remains outstanding.
The committee reported registration counts for the upcoming season: Pre-K–K: 8 players; grades 1–2: 8; grades 3–4: 14; grades 5–6: 9. The committee noted there are three coaches. Lisa Williams and Brittanny Pratte are scheduled to review soccer checklists and inventory on Aug. 10 to prepare for the season.
