Committee approves CTH‑A and CTH‑Y detours for summer community events
Summary
The Highway Committee approved temporary closures and detours: CTH‑A for Village of Lena car shows and the Dirt City parade on specified July–September dates, and CTH‑Y for Oconto's National Night Out on Aug. 4; the municipalities will provide traffic control and signage.
The committee approved two detour requests for community events. Joel Lavarda and Bob Wolf moved and the committee carried a motion to allow the Village of Lena to detour CTH‑A (Old 141 to East Railroad Street) for car shows on July 14, Aug. 11 and Sept. 5 from 3:30–7:30 p.m., and for the Dirt City parade on July 24; the village will provide traffic control and signage.
Separately, the City of Oconto Police Department requested closing CTH‑Y from Park Avenue to Millidge Avenue on Aug. 4 from 4:30–7:30 p.m. for National Night Out. Motion by Lavarda/Hugo to allow the closure with proper signage and detour was carried. Both approvals require the municipalities to handle closures and signage and do not create county maintenance obligations beyond the standard permitting conditions.
