Committee hears operations update: new operator approved, gas wells installed, compactor up for bid

The Mar-Oco Landfill Committee received an operations update July 10 from Landfill Director Paul Klose. He reported that a Develon wheel loader fender has been replaced, scheduled maintenance completed, and that a new operator position had been approved by the appropriate committees and the county board; the paperwork to begin the hiring process was forwarded.
Klose said new gas wells were drilled, a gas line trenched in and new well heads installed. He also reported that M&M Trucking has been bringing asbestos loads from Menominee High School under a continuation of a prior concurrence, and that the Bomag compactor is currently up for bid on an Integrity auction site. Pat Virtues reported that electronic recycling collections did not carry a charge at the receiving location but may incur loading and environmental impact fees.
