Council denies rezone request for two parcels amid general-plan concerns

Applicant representatives discussed a possible three-lot patio-home layout but said plans were not finalized. "This is not a set plan," John Shaw told the council, while Councilmember Nina Morse noted the parcels are designated A-2 in the city's general plan and urged adherence to that designation.
Councilmember Ryan Swapp moved to deny the ordinance; Nina Morse seconded. The motion passed with ayes from Councilmembers Carrie Call, Nina Morse and Ryan Swapp; Councilmembers Ryan Saunders and Kim Dixon voted nay.
The council did not adopt any alternate conditions or remand the proposal with requirements; the denial leaves the parcels in their A-2 designation under the general plan.
