Assistant to the City Manager Michael Gentry presented Resolution No. 2026-03, which establishes temporary, voluntary guidelines for owners of short-term rentals during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Gentry said the guidelines are intended to promote life-safety standards at rental properties and to maintain a record of homes offering short-term lodging during the large regional event; the guidelines do not impose penalties for noncompliance.
Commissioner Jason Musick moved to adopt Resolution 2026-03 and Commissioner Roberta Lehmann seconded. The motion passed 5-0. The resolution instructs staff to maintain the registry and encourages hosts to meet specified life-safety improvements during the World Cup period.
