Committee forwards two highway funding resolutions to County Board, including ARPA interest support

County Administrator Richard Heath and Highway Commissioner Brandon Hytinen presented highway facility financing options and an updated Capital Improvement Plan at the July 16 meeting. Heath reviewed a resolution proposing use of county sales tax and ARPA interest funding for a County Highway CC Improvement Project; the committee voted to forward that resolution to the County Board to avoid delays in needed repairs.
The committee also considered a separate resolution to add work to the County Highway Road Improvement Project using county sales tax. Motion by Dennis Kroll, seconded by John Matravers, to forward the County Sales Tax – County Highway Road Improvement Project addition carried. Both items were forwarded for County Board approval; minutes note an emergency approval in advance for the CC repairs to avoid delay.
