Probation plans to use ORAZ assessment as county pursues expanded pretrial services

Cheryl Gerwig said the Common Pleas probation department is exploring adding staff to support expanded pretrial services and plans to use the ORAZ pretrial assessment. "The probation department will utilize the ORAZ pre trial assessment," she said during the Dec. 1 meeting.
Gerwig also said the department is meeting with other jurisdictions to learn from pretrial programs that have proven successful, and that staffing additions will be pursued to operationalize the county's pretrial goals. No formal vote or funding decision was recorded at this meeting.
