Board hears updates on jail behavioral-health staffing and prerelease plans

Michelle Kelly described new prerelease plans and the county's continuum of care for incarcerated individuals. "Michelle Kelly addressed the continuum of care for incarcerated individuals along with new pre release plans for them," the board record states.
Heather Dean said staffing increases are underway to expand counseling and reentry supports and reviewed agencies contracted to provide mental-health services to the jail. She also warned that county systems are not yet able to track 988 usage and follow-up. "They are currently unable to track data and follow up but hopefully the infrastructure is being put into place for that to happen eventually," Heather Dean said.
