One supervisor (Board member (S8)) said attendees toured a legacy center and discussed AgriStar's poultry processing plant, which a speaker described as having a fire that left "650 people out of work". The board discussed the need for bilingual workers and regional hiring assistance.
The chair (Chair (S1)) and others also referenced an ongoing restructuring of county social services and said changes will be effective Jan. 1, 2027; the board expects a host county to be selected for their district and said staff and supervisors will report back as plans develop.
