Council approves $85,035 invoice for Trust for Public Land work on Riverlands Park

The Chattahoochee Hills City Council on Feb. 10 unanimously approved an $85,035.50 invoice to the Trust for Public Land tied to a $5.4 million effort to acquire and expand Riverlands Park and Camelton Park.
"This is for $5,400,000 of, basically work that they got for us, including $1,900,000 in grant funds," City Manager Robbie Rockewitz told the council while explaining that Trust for Public Land handled much of the transactional and grant work behind the acquisition. He said the invoice reflects professional services and staff time TPL provided in pursuit of parkland and funding.
Council members commended the work and noted the project expands park acreage and river frontage, describing the result as a meaningful addition to the city’s public lands. The mayor said the expansion increases accessible river frontage and thanked TPL staff and local volunteers who assisted with the effort.
The council voted to approve the invoice as part of regular agenda business; staff reported that funds are available and that the acquisition effort will create roughly a half-mile of river frontage for the new parkland.
