Lake Hallie approves intergovernmental cooperation on Iona Beach Road; MPO outlines transportation resources

The Village of Lake Hallie voted unanimously on May 18 to approve an intergovernmental cooperative agreement with the City of Eau Claire concerning Iona Beach Road (90th Street). Trustee Pete Lehmann moved the approval and Trustee Brad Hudson seconded. The agreement was presented under Administration/Village Operations and recorded as carried unanimously.
Earlier in the meeting Derek Anderson of the Chippewa‑Eau Claire Metropolitan Planning Organization gave an overview of MPO services, transportation planning initiatives, traffic safety studies and crash data analysis available to member communities. President Gary Spilde also mentioned that WisDOT plans to reconstruct Highway 124 in 2027 and include a pedestrian crossing at Park Avenue; Spilde noted a maintenance agreement with the City of Eau Claire related to the bicycle trail south of 30th Avenue.
