Board hears monthly reports; public praise given to highway superintendent

At the Sept. 10 Town Board meeting Council members delivered routine monthly reports. Councilman Chris Lee said no one attended the recent Water Committee meeting. Councilwoman Dawn Nier reported on a meeting related to a solar law. Councilwoman Courtney Brown updated the board on Sackets Harbor Fire Department business, including that the fire boat is out of commission and requires repairs; she also said the recreation committee expects to install an ice rink for the winter season and is exploring inclusive events.
Supervisor Beth Arthur described attending a union-contract meeting, visiting highway crew work sites, and meeting with the Village Mayor and a Sackets Harbor Central School representative. During the public comment period Todd Farrington commended 'Mark' for doing a great job as Town Highway Superintendent.
