The Spring City Tourism and Events Commission on Feb. 25 confirmed event leadership and logistics for this year’s Blooms Festival, including a firm deadline of April 1 for sponsors and vendors. Chair Stephanie Strader told the commission the stage is reserved and marketing should begin “as soon as possible.”
Entertainment and site plans are taking shape: a performer identified as Naomi agreed to a $200 fee for a 10–12 minute spot, and Tommy with Blue Grass Hardware quoted $500 for a 1–3 p.m. appearance. Monkey Town inflatables are confirmed and Kristin Urani will contact Kayla’s Petting Zoo. Drop-off for vendors is planned for 7–9 a.m. with pickup at 4:00 p.m.; Stephanie Strader will measure the street to determine food-vendor placement. The commission discussed about 10 table-and-chair sponsors, sponsor signs shaped as flowers, and the need for invoices from contracted services (music, stage, etc.).
Organizers assigned tasks and next steps: Kristin Urani is to send a sponsorship form to Jody Bauer and sponsors must supply materials for the event “Spotlight” listing. Stephanie (chair) will schedule portable restrooms, and Open Door Fellowship will make restrooms and some activities available on the day. A decision on whether to include food trucks remains pending.
