The commission approved a city resolution allowing the 2027 International Delray Beach Concourse de Elegance to use Old School Square and nearby streets, subject to life-safety planning and a nonprofit discount cap. Special Events Manager Ally Beerman told commissioners the event expects about 10,000 attendees and that the nonprofit discount is now capped at $8,000 for non–city-partnered events.
"The 50% nonprofit discount is now set at a maximum of $8,000 so that will be the maximum impact to the city," Beerman said, explaining the adjustment followed the city’s special-event policy changes. The item also authorized the city manager to take actions necessary to effectuate the closure of Northeast 2nd Avenue and related logistics. Commissioners asked staff about prior-year discounts and taxpayer impact; staff said last year’s discount had been larger and the new cap applies to non–city-partnered events.
