Delray Beach hires Samuel Kemp as economic development manager

City Manager introduced Samuel Kemp as the city’s new economic development manager; the commission welcomed him publicly and noted his first day on the job was the day before the meeting.
Samuel Kemp told the commission he is a South Florida native and said his background includes administering business-attraction initiatives and work on a large Publix pharmaceutical facility. "The deal with Publix was too lucrative... I think they serve they'll serve about 1000000 prescriptions, a month or something around a week," he said, describing the project’s regional scale and noting he looks forward to pursuing similar opportunities for Delray Beach.
Commissioners formally welcomed Kemp and the mayor invited him to offer a brief public comment; no vote was required for the introduction.
