The West Point City Planning Commission on Jan. 22 unanimously elected Commissioner PJ Roubinet as chair and Commissioner Rochelle Farnsworth as vice-chair for one-year terms. Commissioner King nominated Roubinet for chair; Commissioner Wade seconded the motion and all members voted aye.
Commissioners said continuity in leadership helps the Commission coordinate with staff and City Council on major zoning items and long-range planning. Bryn MacDonald, the Community Development Director, had earlier outlined the election process and noted the chair’s role in reviewing agendas and attending council meetings. "All voted aye," the minutes record. The Commission said it would continue to use monthly meetings to vet rezone requests, subdivision proposals and other planning matters.
The vote was procedural and does not itself change any land-use decisions pending before the Commission. Both appointees will serve one-year terms and will act as liaisons with staff and the City Council on planning matters until the next January election.
