New mayor sworn in; council updates bank signatories effective May 6

The council held oaths of office for new members during the May 5 meeting. The minutes record that Kim Ehlers was sworn in as mayor (two-year term), Tia Hetland was sworn in for Ward 1 (two-year term), Nathaniel Schroeder for Ward 2 (two-year term) and Mark Guericke for Ward 2 (one-year term).
Following the oath, Schroeder moved to remove former Mayor Janice Thiry from the checking and savings bank accounts and the safety deposit box effective May 6, 2025; Hetland seconded and the mayor declared all ayes. Guericke then moved to add Kim Ehlers and Tia Hetland to those accounts effective May 6, 2025; Schroeder seconded and the motion carried by unanimous consent.
