The White Lake City Council received a petition to vacate the alley between blocks 10 and 15 and the remaining section of Lake Street addition MHW and H; the council said it will proceed with publication of the vacation notice. The petition was reported to council during routine committee reports and will move to required public-notice steps.
A public commenter, John Madlin, raised concerns about Delevan Street. Mayor Janice Thiry and Councilmember Schroeder told the council that the matter had been investigated but contractors have declined to bid because the project is too small. Council also discussed the possibility of bladder-coating gravel streets after Joah inquired; staff noted that the oil used would require a separate project and certain maintenance work must be done before contractors will perform the coating.
