The Dickinson City Council voted unanimously April 14 to approve meeting minutes and adopt a FY27 budget calendar that sets the schedule for budget-related filings and hearings.
Johnnie Simpson moved to approve items 5.A and 5.B (minutes from prior meetings); Bill Schick seconded and the motion carried 6–0. Councilmember Mark Townsend had pulled item 5.C (the FY27 Budget Calendar) for separate consideration; after staff explained a single identified date falls on a Sunday and would be handled administratively, Townsend moved to approve the FY27 Budget Calendar with Bill Schick seconding. That motion also passed 6–0.
Council members said adopting the calendar keeps statutory filing and posting deadlines on track and gives staff direction for scheduling. Staff flagged only the one Sunday date and said the administrative process would address the filing requirement so no schedule change was necessary.
