The Fire/EMS Chief reported Dickinson rarely sends mutual aid to League City—approximately five calls for the year—while League City provided mutual aid to Dickinson more frequently during January–April, with responses ranging from six to 19 calls per month; March showed elevated responses linked to a multi‑patient shooting incident. Councilmembers said faster response times from closer agencies justified the agreement, and the motion to approve was made by Marston S. Holt and seconded by Johnnie Simpson.
The amendment ensures League City’s participation remains available and aligns reimbursement with current response costs; staff will monitor utilization and budgetary impacts.
