Superintendent Joshua Roe told the Tioga Central School District Board of Education that the district will step up outreach on a proposed capital project, including presentations to local town boards and a public forum in December. Roe said he will attend the Barton town board on Nov. 10, the Tioga town board on Nov. 11 and the Nichols town board on Nov. 25, and that project boards summarizing the proposal will be posted in each building.
"Project boards that give an overview of the proposed project will be displayed in each building, a public forum will be held on December 10th, and a mailer will be sent out to all district residents on Monday with an overview of the project," Roe said during the meeting. The board did not take final action on the project at this meeting; the timeline and the public forum were presented as part of outreach and information sharing.
The outreach plan includes physical displays and a mailed summary to residents ahead of the Dec. 10 forum. Roe said he will present the proposal to multiple town boards to solicit local input; no vote or funding decision was taken at the Nov. 5 meeting.
