Residents press board on potholes, loose dogs, delayed tree removal and state heating law

Jeff Sweeney described a recent downed tree on Knowles Road that remained for five days after he reported it and said the delay "hindered the fire department when they came to fight a fire at his son’s house." Tim Hargrave spoke in opposition to a proposed state restriction on heating choices, commending the board for a prior resolution opposing the measure and saying he "disagrees with the Town using the NYS Building Codes as he feels it violates his right to freedom to do what he wants on his own property." Sheree Gauss asked the Board to refer piles of garbage at the B&P property on Route 333 to the code officer, and the Board sent the matter to Code Enforcement Officer Nick Nolton for follow-up.
