Drexel Heights board authorizes HVAC maintenance contract with Tolin Mechanical

The Drexel Heights Fire District board voted unanimously on June 27 to authorize District Administrator and Fire Chief Douglas Chappell to execute an agreement with Tolin Mechanical for HVAC maintenance.
Board member Laura Dailey asked about contract language permitting subcontracting of work; Chief Chappell replied that "Tolin may need to hire specialists and this allows them to." Chair Gary Bynum added that the language also permits alternate service if Tolin cannot respond. "Move to authorize the Fire Chief to execute an Agreement with Tolin Mechanical for HVAC maintenance," the motion recorded in the minutes stated; the motion was seconded by Doug Fink and passed 5-0.
Members also noted the district's HVAC units are not all the same brand, a factor Chief Chappell said depends on unit availability and may affect maintenance needs. The minutes record no amendment or dollar amount attached to the authorization.
