Consultant presents three Bowman Field plans; says FAA accepted airport CIP

Consultant Mathew Wilder of Robert Peccia & Associates presented three alternative plans for development at Bowman Field and submitted a consultant report dated April 29, 2026 for the board’s review.
Wilder told the board that "the Capital Improvement Plan was submitted and accepted by the FAA." He also discussed the Schellenbarger parcel, saying the county would "probably need to own the land before proceeding" on development tied to that property and that an appraisal would be FAA‑eligible after a buy‑sell agreement is in place. Board members discussed hangar sizing (Wilder estimated about 60 feet maximum depending on design) and whether FAA funding could support revenue‑generating hangars; Wilder indicated FAA funding could apply in appropriate circumstances.
Wilder said the board will receive updates on active aircraft counts and that Bowman Field should have about 10 registered N‑numbers to satisfy reporting expectations. The presentation prompted additional requests from board members for plans in chart form and more detailed cost and ownership information before taking procurement or acquisition steps.
