Council conditionally grants Swedish Health Services alley vacation on First Hill
Summary
The City Council approved, as conditioned, Swedish Health Services’ petition to vacate an alley on First Hill; the committee said Swedish agreed to public benefits including street and park improvements.
The Transportation, Waterfront and Seattle Center committee’s recommendation to grant a conditional alley vacation petition from Swedish Health Services was adopted by the Seattle City Council on Aug. 11.
Council member Saka, who presented the committee’s report, said Swedish requested a delay in constructing a proposed building but committed to delivering public benefits associated with the alley vacation, including street improvements, funding for First Hill Park upgrades and other nearby streetscape work.
The clerk called the roll and the Council granted the clerk file as conditioned by a unanimous vote. The conditions recorded in committee will be attached to the council action and the clerk affixed the Council President’s signature.
