Sports-complex expansion: turf installed but stormwater work delayed waiting on FPL

City Manager John W. Coffey updated the council on the Algonquin Sports Complex expansion, reporting the athletic turf installation is complete and posts are drilled for ball courts. He said placement of fill material and grading continue, but final parking-lot grading cannot proceed until a new stormwater pipe is installed.
"We are waiting on FPL to pull their wires and abandon in place the existing conduit, which is obstructing where the final storm water pipe needs to go," Coffey said, and noted the contractor is in daily contact with FPL to expedite the work. Remaining items include final parking-light installation and topsoil/playground installation.
