The Indian Harbour Beach City Council adopted Resolution 26-06 on Aug. 11, 2026, to set the stormwater utility assessment rate at $90 per equivalent residential unit for fiscal year 2027. City Manager John W. Coffey told the council the rate "will generate approximately $427,000 in gross receipts to address maintenance needs and fund state mandated pollutant loading reduction projects."
The resolution was presented as a public hearing item; no members of the public spoke during the hearing. Deputy Mayor Adam Dyer moved to ratify and confirm the assessment roll and adopt Resolution 26-06; Council Member Susan Romy seconded. The motion carried 5–0. Coffey outlined that receipts are earmarked for maintenance, a rain-barrel and waterfront-buffer matching grant program, capital improvement projects including seawall replacement, pipe inspection and repair, and a contribution to the School Road drainage project.
The clerk read the resolution language referencing section 16.5 of the city code of ordinances as the authority for the assessment. Council discussion on the record was limited; Coffey said staff will roll forward additional funding for pipe inspection and school drainage in November. The council did not amend the rate and took no additional direction beyond adopting the resolution.
