Friends' donations and events: 3‑D printer, puppet theatre, concert and Shakespeare program planned

Trustees heard that the library received a donated 3‑D printer for public access, a decorated puppet theatre will be moved to the library, and the Friends of the Library will sponsor a guitarist on Aug. 13 and Shakespeare in the Parks on Aug. 23 (Fred Moodry auditorium is backup for inclement weather).
Director Sam Walters told trustees the library received a donated 3‑D printer that Assistant Director Patrick Sullivan is preparing to make available for public use. Walters also said a large donated puppet theatre, decorated by a high school art class, will need transportation to the library before it can be used.
Walters reported that the Friends of the Library will sponsor a concert by guitarist Gladius on August 13 and will sponsor the annual Shakespeare in the Parks program on August 23 at Washoe Park; the school district has offered Fred Moodry auditorium as an indoor backup in case of inclement weather. The Friends additionally have new t-shirts for sale and will staff a booth at the Sidewalk Sale on Aug. 7.
