Clifton ISD approves new-teacher offers and assistant principal contract extensions
Summary
Following executive session, the board approved several 2026–27 staff contracts, including elementary teacher offers, an elementary counselor, a dual teaching/coaching contract and assistant-principal contracts.
After returning from executive session, the Clifton ISD Board approved multiple personnel recommendations presented by the superintendent and principals.
On the recommendation of CES Principal Wes Brown, Superintendent Andy Ball asked the board to offer 2026–27 elementary teaching contracts to Jan Rutherford, Keri Stewart and Christy Shaw and an elementary counselor contract to Melanie Gloff; the board approved those recommendations. On the recommendation of CHS Principal Jimmy Jackson and Athletic Director Brent Finney, Ball recommended offering a dual teaching and coaching contract to Corey Waller; the board approved that recommendation as well.
The board also approved a two-year contract recommendation for CHS Assistant Principal Gaylena Lewis and a contract for Karen Hanson to move from CMS Assistant Principal to CES Assistant Principal for 2026–27. Each personnel motion was made, seconded and recorded as passing unanimously by the members present.
