The Town Board accepted the retirement and resignation of Highway Superintendent William Dechene, effective May 28, 2026, by adopting Resolution No. 30/2026. The board then moved to ensure continuity in highway operations by appointing Herbert P. Kentile as Interim Highway Superintendent, effective June 9, 2026; the appointment notes compensation will be set by the board.
Councilman Tim Larkin made the motion accepting Dechene's resignation and the board recorded its appreciation for his years of service. The subsequent interim appointment was adopted by resolution with a vote recorded in the minutes; one board member (Councilman Adam Boudreau) was absent for the interim-appointment vote. The minutes indicate the interim superintendent previously worked for the highway department and has been involved in operational planning for summer road priorities.
