Dan Kelleher, president and CEO of the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST), told the Town Board that ROOST is pursuing comprehensive, year-round marketing to increase visitation to Tupper Lake and support local businesses. "ROOST continues to actively promote Tupper Lake through comprehensive year-round marketing, including digital campaigns, social media, media relations, and data-driven strategies to attract visitors and support local businesses," Kelleher said, citing the Adirondack Rail Trail, Wild Center exhibits and the Scenic Railroad as marquee assets.
Kelleher described tools ROOST is using this season, including an Adirondack Rail Trail app and the Adirondacks, USA platform, plus event-marketing support and partnership development with local organizations. The presentation emphasized collaboration with town recreation efforts — for example, listing the Town Hall as a planned stop along a summer Troll path coordinated with ROOST and the Wild Center — and framed tourism promotion as part of local economic development heading into the busy summer season.
