The commission authorized the city manager to negotiate and execute an agreement with the lowest responsible bidder to haul fill material to Laguna Park, in an amount not to exceed $200,000.
Staff member (speaker 13) said the fill material will be provided by Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1 at no cost to the city and that the proposed expenditure would be strictly for hauling and delivery. "We are recommending that city commission authorize myself to execute an agreement with the lowest responsible bidder, in the amount not to exceed $200,000," staff said. The commission approved the motion by voice vote.
The hauling authorization follows approval of a separate labor contract for compaction and grading; staff said several hauling submissions were pending and that the authorization will allow negotiation and contracting to keep the grading work on schedule.
