Chair Kevin Hart noted the commission had previously approved the application in principle and that the resolution completes the statutory process. CEO Bill Everett cautioned that repeated exemptions could shift tax burdens to other taxpayers and that the county lacks staff resources to manage many such requests. County Attorney Morgan Smith said the action satisfies the state statute's requirements and reiterated that the commission should consider creating a process to evaluate future applications more systematically.
The motion to adopt Resolution 26-18 was made by Commissioner Beausoleil and seconded by Commissioner Beaudette; the resolution carried 4-0. No further conditions or changes to the exemption were recorded in the meeting minutes.
