The Alamo City Commission voted to adopt an ordinance formally enacting the Alamo Youth Center’s Health and Safety Plan after a staff presentation and a brief public hearing with no speakers in opposition. A parks and recreation representative told the commission formal adoption would standardize procedures and align the facility with current operating and compliance standards.
“Adopting this health and safety protocol ensures standardized procedures, strength participant, and staff safety, and brings the facility with current operating and compliance standards,” the Parks & Rec presenter said. After the presentation the commission moved, seconded, and approved the ordinance by voice vote.
Commissioners did not elaborate further at the meeting; staff indicated the document is intended to guide daily operations and compliance going forward. No implementation timetable was presented at the meeting.
