During committee and council-member reports staff provided an update on a housing RFP evaluation. Mr. Sanders told the council the evaluation committee is reviewing a joint proposal from the Urban Coalition, Fairbanks Neighborhood Housing Services and other partners; he said the proposal is under evaluation and will be returned to council when committee work is complete.
Several council members noted they serve on local housing boards and flagged potential conflicts. One council member said they had been contacted about the proposal and would consider recusal if necessary as the matter proceeds. No decisions were taken at the Aug. 10 meeting; staff said additional evaluation results will be provided when available.
Council members also discussed upcoming Alaska Municipal League meetings and local projects tied to the log cabin and cemetery maintenance during remarks following the staff update.
